Sound-induced vertigo; disequilibrium or dizziness, nystagmus and oscillopsia triggered by sounds is called the Tullio phenomenon. It is named after Professor Tullio who had discovered this cause and effect in the 1930s in Italy, when he drilled tiny holes in the balance canals of his animal subjects.
